Imagine for a moment please how you would feel if your child or one of their classmates was knocked down by a car outside the school gates. Every single day we have parents who persistently choose to ignore the road markings and either park or stop to drop off their children on the zigzags putting the safety of our children at risk. The school, and in particular the children who are members of the School Council, are working on a range of strategies to discourage this. We are also requesting attendance by Police Community Support Officers who will not hesitate to issue ‘on the spot’ fines. If parking or stopping on the zigzags is something you do, I urge you to stop – please don’t wait until a child is seriously injured or worse.
